License

StackRivet is open core.

The StackRivet Community edition (the stackrivet-server and stackrivet-admin-ui code) is licensed under the Apache License 2.0 — a permissive, commercial-friendly license. You can use it in real, commercial projects; that is the whole point of the Community edition. Each repository carries its own LICENSE and NOTICE.

The public documentation — the prose under src/content/ in stackrivet-site, and the contents of stackrivet-docs — is licensed under CC-BY-4.0 (see each repo’s LICENSE-docs) unless a file states otherwise. Code, configuration, build scripts, and AI-guidance files in those repositories follow the platform’s Apache-2.0 license (LICENSE).

Pro, Enterprise and Enterprise Plus are commercial offerings layered on the open-source Community base — see Editions and the pricing page. The Community edition remains genuinely usable on its own; the paid tiers add team efficiency, governance, compliance and support rather than gating the base.

The authoritative license text is the LICENSE / NOTICE file in each repository. If anything here disagrees with those files, the files win.
